Ridgewood A.M. Rotary member and the evening’s emcee, Carleton Clinch looks on as Rev. Douglas Fromm, minister at Community Church at Upper Ridgewood offered the invocation.
Former Ridgewood Public School Board members: Dr. Sam Stewart, Dr. Fred Stokely, Doug Dittrick, Kathy Rogers-Sachs, Dr. Ron Verdicchio and Dr. Bob Honsinger. Doug was President of the Ridgewood Board of Education for four years and a board member for nine years.
Retired CEO of Valley Hospital, Michael Azzara provided a touching retrospective of Doug and Barbara’s tireless work throughout many world communities where they have made a difference in the lives of others. Mike is greeted warmly by Valley Hospital staff members Dr. William Lee, Dr. Ganepola Ganepola and Dr. Joseph Pizzurro of Saddle River.
Red Cross support: Terri Lahita, Diane Walker, Dr. Bob Lahita, Casey O’Brien of Saddle River and Gladie Gilmartin. Ray and Gladie Gilmartin were the recipients of the Rotary’s 2006 Humanitarians of the Year Awards.
Jack Reynolds buys his 50/50 raffle tickets from Ridgewood AM Rotary member Dave Feeney and Chris Reilly. Reynolds is the current President of the Board of Directors of Theo’s Work, Inc, which supports Project Hope, a Haitian orphanage, school and farm for over 1,200 abused, neglected and abandoned children and one of the recipients of the dinner’s proceeds.

Jack Mc Kinnie, Doug’s long time friend of over 60 years flew in from Ohio and is warmly welcomed by Betty Kirby, Nancy Kraft, Doris Swenson and Phil Wilson, Chairman of West Bergen Mental Healthcare.

After watching Fr. Marc’s video about Project Hope, Ridgewood A.M. Rotary members Doug and Melinda Cronk, Patti and Ken Espenak and Steve Castellucci made additional donations to help the Haitian children of Project Hope. Ken and Steve were also on the Humanitarian Dinner Committee.

Tom Smith, Doug Dittrick and Jack Reynolds have worked together for Theo’s Work, Inc. supporting Project Hope. Tom has been a generous donor. Doug is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Theo’s Work, Inc. and Jack is its President.

At a donors’ reception prior to the dinner, Fr. Marc thanked Ridgewood A.M. Rotary members Anne Bosch and Bill Haggerty from Glen Rock. Bill serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Theo’s Work, Inc.
