235 Days since The Rotary Club of Ridgewood met in person…but who is counting!

Today, October 1st, marks the first time The Rotary Club of Ridgewood AM has met in person for its weekly meeting since March 12, 2020. On that day, the Governor of NJ declared a state of emergency and ordered all residents to shelter in place and businesses to close. Immediately, our club signed up for Zoom and began meeting virtually each Thursday morning at 7:30am.

During our “new normal”, we continued our mission of service over self. We raised funds and contributed to various community charities including West Bergen Mental Health, Social Services Association of Ridgewood and Feed the Front Lines. We have the most the most resilient and generous membership and we are so grateful to everyone for their unfailing spirit.

At the end of September, the club membership was surveyed, and it was agreed that we would meet one more time in person before the end of the year before inclement weather. Thankfully, The Daily Treat in Ridgewood welcomed us outdoors and the weather cooperated.

It was great to see everyone in person again and rekindle our relationships. We look forward to the time we can meet again in person for our weekly meetings at Roots Steakhouse in Ridgewood, but in the meantime, we will keep the Zoom meeting ID and password handy!!
