The only way to describe the Saydah family of Glen Rock is as one of Bergen County’s power couples. With their connection to Hollywood and Los Angeles (hint: their daughter is an actress in LA), Rob and Judy Saydah are a force to be reckoned with.
Rob and Judy have been long time community leaders through outreach and generosity. As a member since 1989 and past president of the Rotary Club of Ridgewood AM, Rob has been a mainstay of volunteerism and philanthropy with specific interests in the Rotary Gift of Life Program and as a Club fundraiser.
Rob’s early years took him from Illinois to Connecticut and finally to Bergen County, New Jersey. Rob attended Northern Highlands Regional High School and Lehigh University where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Early in Rob’s college days, he had a strong affinity for finance and accounting. After graduation and in his desire to explore places outside of the Garden State, Rob worked first for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., a public accounting firm. He then moved to the client side, as a CFO, with a large construction company in Nashville, TN. This career experience and living in Nashville was good. However, you can take the man out of NJ but you can never take NJ out of the man. During his time out of state, Rob stayed in contact with the founding partner at Malesardi, Quackenbush Swift & Co., in Englewood, NJ, and he eventually convinced Rob to come back to New Jersey to join the firm. Today Rob is a managing partner of the firm and specializes in business and tax consulting,
Rob met Judy, a graduate of Northwestern University, at the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. Both sets of their parents were accomplished tennis players and ultimately Rob and Judy created their own doubles team (so to speak)! Today, Rob and Judy live in Glen Rock where they have lived for the past 30+ years and raised their son and daughter. Their son, John, is a Major in the Air Force. He attended the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and is now a pilot stationed in North Carolina. Their daughter Elizabeth is their connection to Hollywood. After graduation from the University of Chicago, she pursued an acting career and today is a very successful voice over actor. She also has roles onscreen in several productions including a significant part in in a Lifetime Network series.
Judy Saydah has been a tireless board member and active part of the Social Services Association food pantry in Ridgewood for decades. Through Judy’s passion and commitment to helping others, Judy and Rob have become a powerful force in our community and we are so thankful that they will continue to keep Glen Rock and our community in their foreseeable plans.
